I am 29 from London and I am about to start my own canvas printing and framing online business, selling on eBay. A printing and distribution service for artists. There is a big market for canvas art but its all generic, or illegally obtained and doesn't pay anything towards the art community.
My concept is to simply provide the UK market with access to some great works of art directly from current artists/photographers worldwide. The consumer would be buying from the artist as well as the printing store. Artist gets paid and the printer gets paid. Nothing complicated really, i couldn't do complicated if I tried.
I'm looking for as many artists that would let me print their work in exchange for a fee per print sold and a chance to promote themselves.
For example 20x30 inch canvas print sold for £34.99, I pay £5.50 to the artist ($9, 7euro). The maximum for any print / sale will be £12.50 ($18, E15).
You would never sign over any of the copyright and I will happily stop printing at any time if you choose you no longer want. I would also encourage you to have your name on each piece and definitely in the product description, after all its about you guys. You are free to use this as an opportunity to advertise yourself and leave contact details, or a link to a website on the listing.
I have had some great works already submitted from different artists, mostly photographers, so let me know if such a thing interests you and we can begin immediately. I want to try and open my eBay store by July 5th.
